Ingredients

  • 1 bunch petai beans, split
  • 2 eggs (optional)
  • 3 red chilies
  • 3 bird’s-eye chilies
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Directions

  1. Sauté aromatics and shrimp paste; add petai.
  2. Scramble egg if using.
  3. Add rice, sweet soy, and salt. Toss on high heat.
  4. Serve with crackers and pickles.
